Elie Daher
Elie (Beyrouth, 1984) graduated from the Institute of Fine-Arts, department of Architecture, Lebanese University, Tripoli, Lebanon, in 2009.
After four years of experience acquired in construction field in several countries, he converged his interest and focus to the research area. Therefore he pursued the Master of “Global Design, specialty Architecture, Modelling and Environment” at the “Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture” of Nancy, France in 2014). Since February 2015, Elie Daher is working as a researcher at Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) in Luxembourg. His research took place in the field of numerical modeling for early design phase and participation. The issue raised in this work studied especially the capabilities of parametric architectural modeling to support and empower the participation of users in the design of their facilities. Currently, Elie Daher is conducting a PhD thesis in collaboration between LIST and KU Leuven entitled “A participatory method and toolset for data-driven optimization of design solutions in parametric modeling systems”.
Research areas: parametric design, architecture, urbanism, participatory design process, environment and energy, optimization, user interaction.
