Asiya Sadiq
Asiya Sadiq Polak is a Pakistani architect currently based in Brussels and working as a part time faculty at KU Leuven, Faculteit Architecture at St Lucas, Campus Gent and Brussels, where she is also persuing her PhD . She has a Masters in Architecture, “Human Settlements Design”, from KULeuven, Belgium.
She is also one of the Core Faculty Members at Department of Architecture and Planning, NED University (DAP-NED) since its formation in 2000. As alumni KULeuven she Initiated and coordinated, a 03 year long, international collaborative project between 05 universities of Europe and South Asia under the auspices of European Commission funded Asia Link Programme. The research focused on impacts of mega projects on cities, feeding into curriculum development and faculty training. The project has been successfully completed with 05 publications. She is one of the founders and coordinators of the Urban Research and Design Cell (URDC) at DAP-NED. Her professional practice includes; practicing, teaching and research / theorizing in the field of architecture, urban design/planning to adaptive reuse and revitalization of tangible and intangible heritage and public art and advocacy sustaining social and urban change. She has written, published and presented her works at various national and international forums.
